What is Word Shooting & Sentence Shooting?

Word shooting and sentence shooting are speech assessment formats used in cabin crew recruitment interviews at airlines such as Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways.

In word shooting, you pick a card with a single word and speak freely in English for one minute. In sentence shooting, you pick a card with a question and answer on the spot.

At Qatar Airways Assessment Days, candidates actually draw a slip of paper from a bowl and deliver a one-minute speech based on what’s written on it.

What is this service?

OneMinuteCrew is a free practice tool that faithfully recreates the word shooting and sentence shooting format.

Why was this made?

This was built by someone who personally prepared for cabin crew interviews at international airlines.

During the preparation process, I realized there was no proper tool to practice word shooting and sentence shooting. The only options were brief sessions during academy classes or gathering study group members. I needed a tool that allowed solo, repetitive practice — as much as I wanted.

So I built one.
